The best surgery i ever had. Helpful and nice staff.
This was my first visit to this surgery and the impression I left with was of a grossly under staffed front desk. I waited over 30 minutes to discuss a simple problem with a receptionist and during this time the queue grew massively. I dread to think how long others had to wait. This is clearly unacceptable.
This mega surgery replaced Broughton House, a far smaller surgery and seems to have the same level of front of house staffing.
The girls on the reception were doing their best but there is no way they could possibly keep up with he numbers of people coming in and offer a proper service.
I would appreciate some feedback on these points.
Impossible to get a timely appointment
Car park often full
Repeat prescription take longer than 4 days
Drugs missed off prescription for arbitrary reasons and the patient not informed
Reception under staffed
When telephoning often in a long queue even when phoning off peak
All the doctors, nurses and medical staff are great but getting through on the telephone for an appointment lets the practice down. This can result in over wrought patients, worried about their health, testing the patience of receptionists who are trying very hard to remain pleasant and work within the system they have. Perhaps more lines at peak times would help.

100% happy with practice. Only slight concern is now its that much larger, but sure they will cope. Important for all patients to abide by the guidelines on when to phone for what so not to overload.
